We're excited to announce that our popular Custom 950 will soon be available with the option for twin outboards, offering enhanced performance and versatility for your sports fishing ambitions.
We are pleased to share some exciting news about one of our most popular boats, the Custom 950. Fans of large trailerable sportfishers may be interested to hear about the coming upgrade: it's soon available with twin outboards as an option.
The Custom 950 is the largest trailerable vessel in our lineup. It's long been popular with those who love specialised yet versatile trailerable sports fishing boats capable of comfortable live-aboard adventures. The Volvo Penta sterndrive works well, but a couple of enquiries for twin outboards inspired us to put the idea through the design process.
Why Twin Outboards?
- Higher Cruising Speeds: The twin engines allow us to get higher cruising speeds over the single inboard, which means you get to your fishing spot and home again quicker.
- Technology Advances in Outboard Tech: Some of the latest helm technology available from various brands has vastly improved the user experience on outboard-powered boats.
- More Cockpit Space: While in no way intrusive, removing the underfloor engine compartment does free up even more usable fishing space in the Custom 950.
- Twin Engine Peace of Mind: Having twin engines gives you that extra bit of assurance. If something goes wrong with one, you’ve got the other to rely on. It’s a nice safety net to have, especially when you’re out on longer trips.
